About Spokane Gymnastics

SPOKANE GYMNASTICS HISTORY
Spokane Elite Gymnastics was in business for over 30 years, with multiple owners in several different Valley locations.  In August 1999, Seattle Gymnastics Academy, Inc. owned by John Sweeney bought Spokane Elite Gymnastics, and moved it to our current location.

In June 2007, Molly Smith, Nadine Burgess and Chris Sarquilla were promoted to manage Spokane Elite Gymnastics and along with the support of an incredible staff of coaches, were successful in transforming Spokane Elite Gymnastics to become the Inland Northwest's premier gym offering unparalleled preschool, recreational and competitive programs.

This growth continued until Spring of 2010, when John Sweeney opted to focus on his four gyms in Seattle.  He provided the opportunity for the staff at Spokane Elite Gymnastics to buy the business and Nadine Burgess, the current owner, started a new corporation and changed the name to “Spokane Gymnastics” in conjunction with the new ownership effective July 1, 2010.  All new equipment was purchased and installed in June and July of 2010.  Nadine and Molly cooperate on all daily operations;  Molly serves as Manager, Team Director and Registrar.  All other  staff and programs remained the same and the transition has gone smoothly.

In February 2011, Spokane Gymnastics expanded by leasing an additional 4,000 square feet adjacent to the current facility, bringing the total square footage of the facility 11,000 square feet.  Parents, students and coaches have enjoyed a larger viewing area, additional restrooms and changing room space, new boys area, preschool room and additional floor and tumbling space.

We will continue with this positive direction and focus on both recreational and competitive gymnastics.  Spokane Gymnastics has built an excellent reputation for producing high quality competitive gymnasts while offering a excellent recreational program in a fun and supportive environment.  We strive to balance teaching proper gymnastics techniques along with keeping gymnastics fun!

OUR STAFF
Spokane Gymnastics employs the finest coaches and support staff available in our industry.  Every employee is screened with a background check and must complete rigorous training before coaching their own classes.  We provide on-going monthly training to all instructors and most attend many local, state-wide and regional conferences and hands-on training events.

OUR FACILITY
Our 11,000 square foot facility has all of the Olympic equipment for boys and girls gymnastics, plus an in-ground, loose-foam pit. This feature is not only safe for gymnastics, but great fun for birthday parties.

In addition to the Olympic equipment (spring floor, high bar, parallel bars, and uneven bars, vault, rings, pommel horse and beams) we also feature a double mini trampoline, Tumbl Trak and foam pit with a cargo net and zip line.  We are proud to provide a safe and CLEAN gym with well-maintained equipment.
